In 1998, Pancho Álvarez published an album inspired by the music of Florencio, O Cego dos Vilares. The musician from Porriño faces alone, as a multi-instrumentalist, the recording of songs that the last blind singer from Galicia had compiled. Preserving with great success the musical aesthetic that Florencio printed on his violin, Pancho Álvarez recreated sung and instrumental themes that he left in this work, which was considered the best European folk album of 1998 by FOLK WORLD magazine.
