Homenaxe a Ricardo Portela – 25th Anniversary Pasamento”, to pay homage to the Viascón Bagpiper on the occasion of the noted anniversary that took place on March 24, 2017, in which it includes a selection of his most characteristic repertoire performed with his own bagpipe closed fingering.

The disc contains an anthology of 20 representative songs of the Portelian repertoire present in the discs "Irmáns Portela", Festa en Viascón", "Alborada en Cotobade", "Instrumentos Musicalais Populares Galegos" or "Galiza a José Afonso" along with other pieces that Oscar Ibáñez rescued from different unpublished recordings. Aware of the responsibility that the project implied, Oscar Ibáñez interpreted this repertoire respecting Ricardo Portela's unique closed toque, getting as close as possible to his style, interpretive technique and ornamentation, so that to carry out the project Ibáñez elaborated a long work previous analysis and transcription of both the melodies and the ornamentation used by Ricardo Portela in the selected songs.

The percussion was carried out by prominent artists of our traditional music who recorded or played with Ricardo Portela in the 80s, mainly as Xosé V. Ferreirós (Milladoiro), Francisco Estévez "Chuco" (E-Trad), Gonzalo Caride (artisan , musician), Wenceslao Cabezas “Polo” (Escola Municipal de Danza do Concello de Vigo), Antón López “Toniño” (Treixadura), Manuel Solla (Os Cruceiros), Xosé Carlos V. Bouza and Jesus Corral (Xarabal), Miguel Souto (O Fiadeiro), Alberto Costas (PelePau) and Manuel Alonso and Xosé María Gutiérrez (Noitarega).
